January 1, 2009 Article: World Peace and Chocolate: sweetriot creates morsels of goodness
Featured Artist #10 goes to Callie Hirsch!
"Supporting artists has always been important to me, and I really wanted to incorporate that into the soul of sweetriot. We just finished the voting process for Artist # 10, Callie Hirsch, who is a local artist. The neat thing about the tin art program is we encourage artists to submit their work. We receive hundreds of submissions from all over the world. We narrow the artist pool to two artists, and take the vote live. So you as a consumer decide who the next sweetriot artist will be. Their name is featured on every tin, and they are also highlighted on our website. It’s about building community around our product, and supporting others." Sarah Endline
Rock the Art Votes are in!
We asked you, the rioting community, to select the artwork for the next round of sweetriot cacao tins. And you chose... Callie Hirsch from Brooklyn! Congratulations Callie!
Winning means:
Distribution to a growing number of retail stores in New York City and across the US... including Zabars, Whole Foods, Balducci's, Fairway and Gourmet Garage.
Featured on sweetriot.com and their blog, blog.sweetriot.com, as the # 10 artist chosen!
Best of all, is being a part of a new movement - fixing the world one 'peace' at a time.
sweetriot is creating a sweet movement to fix the world. We've started by sourcing our cacao directly in Latin America, using recyclable, reusable packaging which features emerging artists, and only using all-natural, healthy ingredients for our dark chocolate 'peaces.' Did we mention the ‘peaces’ are just 1-2 calories each?! Yum!
